Ramsons
kr 149,00 – kr 199,00 inkl.mva
Ramsons are a wonderful herb/leafy vegetable, and it is possible to grow them yourself. It takes time to develop fields, and the seeds require a long time, so the quickest way is to start from onion/root.
We sell tubers and plants in the fall and spring, but need to work up the stock before we sell seeds.
Description
Cultivar
Ingen kjent kultivar
Species
Allium ursinum L.
For some reason, wild onion has become the wild plant that “everyone” wants to get their hands on. This threatens wild populations, and in protected areas it is now forbidden to harvest it. So it can be a good idea to grow your own.
Cultivation
It works well if you have a moist spot, preferably in shade or semi-shade, and loose soil rich in organic matter.
Once you are well underway with a field, it will self-sow. If you choose to collect seeds to propagate, remember that wild garlic needs a double stratification to germinate: first a warm period, then cold/frost. It releases its seeds relatively early, so it is prepared for the fact that there is a lot of summer left after the seeds have hit the ground, absorbed moisture and started their processes.
To avoid killing the plants, you should only pick one leaf from each plant. NB! This applies by all means if you collect it in wild populations!
