For some reason, wild onion has become the wild plant that “everyone” wants to get their hands on. This threatens wild populations, and in protected areas it is now forbidden to harvest it. So it can be a good idea to grow your own.<\/p>\n

Cultivation<\/h3>\n

It works well if you have a moist spot, preferably in shade or semi-shade, and loose soil rich in organic matter.<\/p>\n

Once you are well underway with a field, it will self-sow. If you choose to collect seeds to propagate, remember that wild garlic needs a double stratification to germinate: first a warm period, then cold\/frost. It releases its seeds relatively early, so it is prepared for the fact that there is a lot of summer left after the seeds have hit the ground, absorbed moisture and started their processes.<\/p>\n
