Cultivar
‘Uppsala’ is the one we know of with by far the largest top bulb, approx. 5 mm, which gives stronger growth when propagated from these.
Species
Allium scorodoprasum L.
Grows wild in the north and has been cultivated since the Viking Age. Divides like many other types of onion, and can easily be divided by root. Good spring onions.
